On December 4, 2021, Director-General of the Department of Policy Planning of the Foreign Ministry Miao Deyu, upon invitation, attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the High-end Forum on International Communication of Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy held by Shanghai International Studies University via video link.

Referring to the publication of the Study Outline on Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, Miao Deyu introduced and explained the essences of Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, hoping experts and scholars intensify theoretical studies on international relations with Chinese characteristics, actively engage in foreign exchanges, and help the outside world constantly improve their understanding of Chinese foreign policies and guide them to set up a correct view of China.
