Virtual Meeting between Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Korean Peninsula Affairs Amb. Liu Xiaoming and Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs of the ROK Mr. Noh Kyu-duk

On November 1, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Korean Peninsula Affairs Amb. Liu Xiaoming held a virtual meeting with Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs of the ROK Mr. Noh Kyu-duk.

Mr. Noh briefed Amb. Liu on the ROK’s recent exchanges with relevant parties on Peninsula affairs such as restarting dialogue and announcing the End-of-War Declaration on the Korean Peninsula. He said that the ROK attaches great importance to the key role played by China and expressed his country’s willingness of enhancing communication and coordination with China.

Amb. Liu spoke highly of the ROK’s efforts. He pointed out that, as an important party of the Peninsula affairs and a signing party of the Korean Armistice Agreement, China is willing to play a constructive role by maintaining communication with relevant parties on matters including the promotion of peace talk and the announcement of the End-of-War Declaration. Amb. Liu reiterated China’s hope that relevant parties and the international community take more positive actions to contribute to the political settlement of the Peninsula issues.
