Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li Meets with Outgoing Zambian Ambassador to China Winnie N. Chibesakunda

On November 19, 2021, Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li met with outgoing Zambian Ambassador to China Winnie N. Chibesakunda.

Deng Li spoke highly of Chibesakunda's positive contributions to promoting China-Zambia relations during the years as Ambassador to China. Deng Li said, China and Zambia enjoy a traditional friendship. In recent years, the two countries have conducted frequent high-level exchanges and delivered fruitful outcomes of practical cooperation. Despite the adverse impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, both sides steadily advance major cooperation projects. Deng Li hopes that Mrs. Ambassador will continue to care for and support China-Zambia relations after her return to Zambia.

Chibesakunda expressed her gratitude for China's support during her tenure in China. She said, over the six years' tenure in China, she has witnessed China's remarkable achievements in national construction through visionary strategic planning and deployment by the Chinese government, especially the victory of the decisive battle over poverty. After going back to Zambia, I will introduce China's development experience to high-level Zambian officials, and continue to contribute to Zambia-China cooperation.
