On March 9, 2022, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Zhai Jun visited Israel and met with Israel's Alternate Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and Chair of the Israel-China Parliamentary Friendship Group MK Tzachi Hanegbi, respectively. The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations, the Palestinian question and other international and regional hotspot issues. Chinese Ambassador to Israel Cai Run attended the above activities.
