On September 7, 2022, Vice Foreign Minister Xie Feng attended the reception marking the 200th anniversary of Brazil's independence hosted by the Brazilian Embassy in China upon invitation. He exchanged views with Brazilian Ambassador to China Marcos Galvao on China-Brazil relations and more.

Xie Feng extended congratulations on the 200th anniversary of Brazil's independence. He said, since independence, the Brazilian people have actively explored a development path in line with their realities and made remarkable achievements in defending national sovereignty, revitalizing the national economy, improving people's lives, and promoting pluralistic diplomacy, among other aspects. China and Brazil are each other's comprehensive strategic partner. In recent years, China-Brazil relations have maintained stable development, with practical cooperation in various fields yielding fruitful results and the China-Brazil friendship being deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. China is ready to work with Brazil to follow the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, elevate cooperation in various fields to new heights, join hands to safeguard the interests of emerging markets and developing countries, and promote the building of a China-LAC community with a shared future and a community with a shared future for mankind.

Galvao said, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Brazil and China, bilateral relations have made great progress. China has remained the largest trading partner of Brazil for a long time, and bilateral cooperation in investment, innovation and other fields has kept deepening. Brazil attaches great importance to developing relations with China, and speaks highly of the important role played by Brazil-China cooperation in Brazil's economic and social development. Brazil is ready to work with China to further explore pragmatic cooperation in various fields, strengthen communication and coordination in multilateral areas, and consolidate and deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, so as to better benefit the two peoples.
