From September 19 to 20, 2022, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on European Affairs Wu Hongbo visited Belgium. He met respectively with Vice President of the Belgian Federal Chamber of Representatives Séverine de Laveleye, Member of the Executive Bureau of the Chamber of Representative André Flahaut, Chairman of the Belgium-China Friendship Group of the Belgian Federal Parliament Gilles Vanden Burre and Director General for Bilateral Affairs of the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs of Belgium Jeroen Cooreman.

The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on China-Belgium and China-EU relations as well as international and regional issues of common interest and concern. Both sides agreed to deepen practical cooperation and cultural and people-to-people exchanges in various fields to jointly push for greater development of bilateral relations.
