From December 11 to 12, 2022, Vice Foreign Minister Xie Feng held talks with visiting US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Kritenbrink and Senior Director for China and Taiwan of the White House National Security Council Laura Rosenberger in the city of Langfang, Hebei Province.

The two sides had in-depth discussions on implementing the common understandings reached between the two presidents at their meeting in Bali, advancing consultations on guiding principles for China-US relations, properly handling the Taiwan question and other important and sensitive issues in bilateral relations, and strengthening exchanges at all levels and carrying out cooperation in relevant areas. Both sides also had an extensive exchange of views on international and regional issues of mutual interest and concern.

Both sides believed that the talks were candid, in-depth and constructive, and agreed to continue to maintain communication.
