The Foreign Ministry Organizes Acrobatic Show for Diplomatic Corps in China

On May 24, 2023, the Foreign Ministry and China Acrobats Association jointly held an acrobatic show “Youth Has Another Name” for the diplomatic corps in China. Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong attended the event and delivered remarks. Thirteen ambassadors from such countries as Bangladesh, the Republic of Korea, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Jordan, Switzerland, Botswana and Seychelles, and over 700 diplomatic personnel of the corps and their sons and daughters of more than 90 embassies (agencies) in China, attended the event.

Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong said in his remarks that Chinese acrobatics have a long history, are branded with fine traditional Chinese culture, inherited and carried forward, and reflect the Chinese people’s wisdom and characters of seeking stability in adversity, seeking peace in changes, and seeking flexibility in consistency, which has formed a distinctive artistic form embodying cultural heritage, aesthetic significance and national qualities. Chinese acrobatics have been world-renowned for carrying forward friendship and award-winning on international arenas. The achievements are attributed to years of hard work, perseverance and craftsmanship of artists. Sun Weidong expressed his hope that the diplomatic envoys will appreciate the charm of Chinese acrobatics through the show, and the cultural integration featuring openness, inclusiveness, and mutual appreciation and inspiration. Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong also sent wishes of International Children's Day in advance to the children present at the event.

The diplomatic envoys to China thanked the Foreign Ministry for the considerate organization of the acrobatic show for the diplomatic corps, and responded with multiple rounds of heartfelt applause to the artists for their splendid performance, saying that the show is creative and innovative and they have fully felt the distinctive features of the Chinese acrobatic culture and the Chinese youth’s pursuit of progress in the new era. They looked forward to more opportunities to appreciate the charm of the Chinese culture.
