Vice Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin Urgently Summons Ambassador of Myanmar to China to Lodge Solemn Representations over the Casualties of Chinese Civilians Caused by Bombs from Myanmar's Airforce Jet

In the evening of March 13, 2015, Vice Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin urgently summoned Ambassador of Myanmar to China Thit Linn Ohn, lodging solemn representations over the casualties of Chinese civilians caused by bombs dropped by Myanmar's airforce jet.

Liu Zhenmin pointed out that amid the continued exchange of fire in China-Myanmar border areas between the Myanmar army and relevant militant group in the Kokang region in northern Myanmar, bombs from Myanmar's airforce jet fell in Chinese territory, causing casualties of innocent Chinese civilians. The Chinese side strongly condemns the incident, and urges the Myanmar side to investigate the incident thoroughly, inform the result to the Chinese side, severely punish the perpetrators, cope with the aftermath of the incident properly and immediately take effective measures to prevent recurrence of similar incidents so as to earnestly maintain the security and stability of Chinese-Myanmar border areas.
