Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Syrian Issue Xie Xiaoyan Visits Jordan

On August 23, 2016, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Syrian Issue Xie Xiaoyan visited Jordan, during which he met with Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs and Minister of State for Media Affairs and Communications Mohammad Momani of Jordan, and held talks with Acting Secretary-General and Director of the Department of Arab and Middle East Affairs of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Naif Az-Zidan of Jordan. Both sides exchanged views on the Syrian issue. Xie Xiaoyan also held discussion with scholars from the Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan on the Syrian issue. H.E. Pan Weifang, Chinese Ambassador to Jordan attended above activities. On the same day, Xie Xiaoyan gave a joint interview to Chinese and foreign media and introduced relevant information of the visit as well as China's principles, position and proposals on the Syrian issue.
