Vice Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin Exchanges the Instruments of Ratification of the Treaty on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons Between China and Tajikistan with Tajik Ambassador to China

On June 19, 2017, Vice Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin and Tajik Ambassador to China Parviz Davlatzoda exchanged the instruments of ratification of the Treaty between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Tajikistan on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons, and signed corresponding certificates.

Speaking highly of China-Tajikistan relations, both sides believed that bringing the treaty into force will further improve the network for bilateral judicial cooperation, and will also enhance bilateral cooperation under the frameworks of the "Belt and Road" and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

On September 13, 2014, on behalf of their own country, Foreign Minister Wang Yi and then Prosecutor General of Tajikistan Sherhon Salimzoda signed the Treaty between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Tajikistan on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons in Dushanbe.

On April 27, 2017, this treaty was ratified at the 27th Session of the 12th Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and it will come into force on July 19, 2017.
