Assistant Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou Pays Courtesy Call on Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi of Pakistan

On November 21, 2017, Assistant Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou, who was in Islamabad for the 8th round of China-Pakistan strategic dialogue, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi of Pakistan.

Kong Xuanyou expressed that the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has successfully concluded not long ago, bringing a new start for China's diplomacy. The Chinese side always takes Pakistan as the priority of its diplomacy with neighboring countries, and considers Pakistan as an important partner in the "Belt and Road" construction. Under the guidance of the top leaders of both countries, both sides will continue supporting each other's core interests, expand and deepen practical cooperation in various fields with the construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor at the core, enhance cooperation and coordination in international and regional affairs, and jointly cope with the increasingly complicated international and regional environment. China is willing to make joint efforts with Pakistan to comprehensively strengthen bilateral all-weather strategic cooperative partnership and build a community of common destiny for China and Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that Pakistan warmly congratulated on the successful convening of the 19th CPC National Congress. This historic meeting fully embodies President Xi Jinping's foresight and sagacity as well as his international influence. The great vision put forward at the 19th CPC National Congress will further change the face of China, and also be of significance for promoting world development and prosperity. Regarding China's development as its own opportunity, Pakistan stands ready to be a firm partner on China's development road, and jointly make contributions to maintaining peace and development of the region and the world at large.
