Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Jun Attends and Addresses the Second One Planet Summit September 28, 2018

On September 26, 2018, on behalf of State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Jun attended the Second One Planet Summit and delivered a speech on the sidelines of the General Debate of the 73rd Session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly held in New York, expounding the important efforts the Chinese side has made to cope with climate change and the positive contributions to promoting international cooperation. Zhang Jun stated that China is a firm supporter for and an active participant in the Paris Agreement. China's resolution to implement the Paris Agreement remains unchanged and China's commitment remains unchanged and China's pace has never stopped. China will adopt an all-round measure, adhere to the guidance of a new development concept featuring innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing, and jointly push for implementing the Paris Agreement with the international community by strong actions, in a bid to jointly cope with the challenges of climate change facing human society.

President Emmanuel Macron of France, President of the World Bank Group Jim Yong Kim, Deputy Secretary-General of the UN Amina J. Mohammed, UN Special Envoy for Climate Action Michael R. Bloomberg, and many high-level representatives of various countries attended the meeting.
