Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Hanhui and Deputy Foreign Minister Akhatov Dilshod Khamidovich of Uzbekistan Hold Consultation Between the Two Foreign Ministries and the Session of Security Cooperation Subcommittee

On December 24, 2018, Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Hanhui and Deputy Foreign Minister Akhatov Dilshod Khamidovich of Uzbekistan held the annual consultation between the two Foreign Ministries and the sixth session of the Security Cooperation Subcommittee of the China-Uzbekistan Inter-governmental Cooperation Committee in Beijing.

Both sides made in-depth exchanges of views on bilateral relations, high-level exchanges, cooperation in key areas, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as well as international and regional issues of common concern. Both sides expressed that they will make concerted efforts to earnestly implement the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, deepen cooperation in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and elevate the level of cooperation in such areas as economy and trade, transportation, science and technology, agriculture, people-to-people and cultural engagement, and cooperation at local level in an all-round way, so as to push China-Uzbekistan comprehensive strategic partnership to new levels.

Both sides appreciated the positive results of bilateral security cooperation, and agreed to continue their support for the Security Cooperation Subcommittee to play its role, further intensify exchanges and cooperation, and sternly crack down on the "three forces", so as to make more positive contributions to safeguarding safety and stability of the two countries and the region. After the session, both sides signed the Minutes of the Sixth Session of the Security Cooperation Subcommittee of the China-Uzbekistan Inter-governmental Cooperation Committee.
