Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Jun Attends the First G20 Osaka Summit Sherpa Meeting

From January 19 to 20, 2019, the First G20 Osaka Summit Sherpa Meeting was held in Tokyo. G20 Sherpa of the Chinese side and Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Jun led a delegation to attend the meeting, during which he elaborated on the Chinese side's stances on issues such as world economic situation, trade and investment, infrastructure, digital economy and employment, and exchanged views with various parties.

Zhang Jun stressed that at present, the world economy is facing a slowdown in growth, increasing downward pressure, rising uncertainties and destabilizing factors and the extensive negative effects brought by protectionism. The Chinese side expects that the G20 will continuously play its role as a premier forum for international economic cooperation, uphold multilateralism, carry forward the spirit of partnership, join hands to construct an open world economy, strengthen macroeconomic policy coordination, advance structural reform, boost innovation-driven development, and implement the agenda for sustainable development, so as to continuously make contributions to improving global economic governance.
