Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong Meets with a Delegation of Senior Diplomats from Africa

On August 13, 2019, Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong met with a delegation of senior diplomats from Africa.

Chen Xiaodong gave a friend's welcome to the African senior diplomats for their visit to China. He expressed that China-Africa relations are now at the best time in history. While developing relations with Africa, the Chinese side follows the principles put forward by President Xi Jinping, namely, the principles of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith and of pursuing the greater good and shared interests. China is willing to intensify communication and integration with the African side, and work together to implement the outcomes of Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. Both sides need to strengthen solidarity and cooperation, jointly champion multilateralism and the overall interests of developing countries and push the development of international order in a fairer and more reasonable direction.

The African guests thanked the Chinese side for the warm and friendly reception. They congratulated on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. They said they will continue to devote themselves to propelling Africa-China relations and boosting the solidarity and cooperation among developing countries.

The delegation consists of senior diplomats from the Foreign Ministries of 25 African countries, including Benin and Togo, as well as Economic Community of Central African States. Apart from Beijing, the delegation will also visit Shandong Province.
