Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov Hold Consultation

On January 13, 2020, Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov held consultation in Moscow, communicating on the Korean Peninsula issue and the Asia-Pacific situation.

Both China and Russia believed, it serves the common interests of all parties and is the common expectation of the international community to continue the dialogue and relaxation on the Korean Peninsula. The two sides called on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States (US) to stick to the right direction of dialogue and consultation, meet each other halfway and actively seek effective ways to break the deadlock and address each other's concerns. Reaffirming support for improving relations between the DPRK and the Republic of Korea and promoting reconciliation and cooperation, the two sides agreed to continue to play an active role in promoting the political resolution process of the Korean Peninsula issue.

Both sides exchanged in-depth views on the Asia-Pacific situation and other international and regional issues of common concern, and agreed that in the face of the complicated regional situation, China and Russia should further strengthen coordination and cooperation on major issues in the Asia-Pacific region and play a constructive role in maintaining regional strategic stability and economic prosperity.
