2020/11/03

On November 3, 2020, Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng invited Russian Ambassador to China Andrey Denisov to visit an exhibition commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) army entering the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to help in the war to resist U.S. aggression entitled "Remembering the Great Victory, Safeguarding Peace and Justice" at the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution. While visiting the exhibition halls of "Decision to Send Troops in Defense of Justice", "Mobile Warfare to Defeat the Enemy and Stabilization of the Front", "Battle for Promoting Talks and Self-strengthening", etc., they learned in detail about the background of the decision to send the CPV army to DPRK and help in the war to resist U.S. aggression, as well as the course of the war, and comprehensively reviewed the glorious history that the CPV army, going from strength to strength, defeated the strong and superior U.S. army with a weak and backward force. They stood in front of the exhibitions about the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China making the historic decision to "resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea, protect our home and defend our country", related battles, and the two countries' armies fighting side by side.

At the end of the visit, Denisov said, the exhibition is impressive. The victory of the War against U.S. Aggregation and Aid Korea is of great and far-reaching significance. From the historical point of view, this war has inspired us to "remember the history, recall the heroes, cherish peace and create the future". From the political point of view, the Chinese people's spirit of defying strong enemies and fighting bravely and skillfully to defend their country and uphold justice is worthy of admiration. The world today, albeit without large-scale wars, is still seeing evident unilateralism and remains not peaceful. In this context, the great spirit demonstrated by the Chinese people in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea is still relevant.

Denisov said, 70 years ago, the Soviet air force went actively into the war and provided the CPV army with important air support. The two armies forged a fraternal friendship in the joint fight against the strong U.S. army. 70 years later, Russia and China are now cooperating at a high level in the political, economic and cultural spheres and are closely coordinating in international affairs, becoming a key factor in maintaining world peace and stability. The comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and China in the new era has set an example of a new type of relations between major powers. Russia and China should remain true to our original aspiration, keep our mission firmly in mind and always strive to promote the two countries' relations to a higher level and continue to make new contributions to the maintenance of world peace and stability.

Denisov is the first foreign diplomat to visit the exhibition.
