External Security Commissioner of Foreign Ministry Cheng Guoping Meets with Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to China Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri

On January 21, 2021, External Security Commissioner of Foreign Ministry Cheng Guoping met with Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to China Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri.

Cheng Guoping said, the UAE is China's important strategic partner in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region. Under the strategic guidance of the leaders on both sides, China-UAE relationship has seen a rapid, comprehensive and in-depth development. In particular, their joint fight against the pandemic demonstrates the high level of their comprehensive strategic partnership. China stands ready to work with the UAE to implement important consensus reached between the two leaders, and lift the bilateral ties to a higher level. China appreciates the UAE's firm support in counter-terrorism and issue related to Xinjiang, and stands ready to work with the UAE to strengthen cooperation in the fight against terrorism and extremism.

Dhaheri said, the UAE values its relations with China, and their fruitful cooperation in various areas sets a good example of state-to-state relations. Both sides fight side by side against the pandemic and provide each other with valuable assistance and support. The UAE will continue to firmly support China's just stance on issues involving its core interests and major concerns, and will work with China to strengthen cooperation on counter-terrorism and security, and maintain peace and stability of the two countries and the region.
