Handover Ceremony of Medical Supplies Donated by China to Bhutan Holds in Kunming

On the afternoon of April 8, 2021, the handover ceremony of medical supplies donated by China to Bhutan was held in Kunming City, Yunnan Province. Director-General of the Department of Boundary and Ocean Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Hong Liang and Secretary for the International Boundary Cell, National Land Commission of Bhutan Letho Tobdhen Tangbi who came to China for the 10th Expert Group Meeting on China-Bhutan Boundary Issues co-hosted the ceremony.

Hong Liang said that China and Bhutan are friendly neighbors connected by mountains and rivers. The two countries have always helped each other overcome difficulties together. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bhutan has provided staunch support for China, for which the Chinese people bear in mind. China has also held timely exchanges of experience with Bhutan and provided multiple batches of supplies. This time, China provided a new batch of medical supplies to Bhutan again on the occasion of the China-Bhutan Boundary Talks, to show the Chinese people's sincere friendship with and best wishes for the Bhutanese people, and their expectations for Bhutan's early victory against the pandemic.

Letho Tobdhen Tangbi said that China's remarkable achievements in fighting the pandemic within its borders and its selfless assistance for the international anti-pandemic cooperation have displayed the Chinese people's international humanitarianism and their responsibilities. Bhutan is grateful for China's long-term support and assistance, and is willing to join hands with China to tide over difficulties for the benefit of the two peoples.
