On March 23, 2025 local time, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi met with Secretary General of Japan's National Security Secretariat Masataka Okano in Tokyo.

The two sides had in-depth discussions on jointly implementing the important common understandings reached between the leaders of the two countries and comprehensively advancing the sound and stable development of the China-Japan strategic relationship of mutual benefit, and agreed to continue to maintain communication through the China-Japan high-level political dialogue mechanism.
