Joint Communique on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations Between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Seychelles

The Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Seychelles have decided to establish diplomatic relations at ambassadorial level as from 30 June 1976.

The Chinese Government supports the Government and people of the Seychelles in their just struggle to safeguard national independence and state sovereignty.

The Government of the Republic of Seychelles recognizes the Government of the People's Republic of China as the sole legal government representing all the Chinese people.

The two Governments have agreed to develop friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries on the basis of the principles of mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, mutual non-aggression, non-interference in each other's internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit, and peaceful co-existence.
