Xi Jinping Accepts Credentials from Thirteen Newly-appointed Ambassadors to China

On the afternoon of June 20, 2018, President Xi Jinping accepted credentials presented by thirteen newly-appointed Ambassadors to China at the Great Hall of the People.

The sun shines brightly in the crystal clear sky in midsummer. With guard of honor lining up on both sides of the red carpet on the steps outside the North Gate of the Great Hall of the People, the trumpeters blew the horns to greet guests. The newly-appointed Ambassadors to China arrived successively, walked up the steps and entered the Beijing Hall. The Ambassadors presented credentials to Xi Jinping in succession. Xi Jinping shook hands and posed for photos with them respectively. These thirteen newly-appointed Ambassadors are Barbadian Ambassador to China François Jackman, Peruvian Ambassador to China Luis Quesada, Angolan Ambassador to China João Salvador dos Santos Neto, Moldovan Ambassador to China Denis Jelimalai, Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun, Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Dominica to China Martin Charles, Ambassador of New Zealand to China Clare Fearnley, Cypriot Ambassador to China Antonis Toumazis, Ambassador of Trinidad and Tobago to China Stephen Seedansingh, Moroccan Ambassador to China Aziz Mekouar, Sudanese Ambassador to China Ahmed Shawar, Montenegrin Ambassador to China Darko Pajovic and Ambassador of San Marino to China Ilaria Salicioni.

Xi Jinping welcomed all Ambassadors to China to assume their new posts in China and asked them to convey his sincere greetings and best wishes to relevant state leaders and the people of their countries. Xi Jinping stressed that China attaches high importance to developing its relations with their countries, and is willing to further enhance mutual trust, cooperation and exchanges, so as to constantly elevate bilateral relations to new stages and better benefit the Chinese people and the people of their countries. It is hoped that the Ambassadors will make positive contributions in this regard. The Chinese government will provide convenience and support for the Ambassadors to fulfill their duties.

The Ambassadors conveyed warm greetings from respective relevant state leaders to Xi Jinping. They expressed that their countries attach great importance to developing their relations with China, cherish the friendship between the peoples and hope to actively participate in the Belt and Road construction and deepen bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation. They feel greatly honored to serve as Ambassadors to China, and stand ready to be committed to enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between their respective countries and China and promoting bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields.
