Xi Jinping Accepts Credentials from Nine New Ambassadors to China


On April 14, 2015, President Xi Jinping accepted credentials presented by 9 new ambassadors to China at the Great Hall of the People. The ambassadors were Malawian Ambassador to China Charles Enoch Namondwe, Central African Ambassador to China Jean Pierre Mbazoa, Tongan Ambassador to China Tau’aika ’Uta’atu, UK Ambassador to China Barbara Janet Woodward, Thai Ambassador to China Theerakun Niyom, South African Ambassador to China Dolana Msimang, Kazakh Ambassador to China Shakhrat Nuryshev, ROK Ambassador to China Kim Jang-soo and Antigua and Barbuda Ambassador to China Brian Stuart-Young.

Xi Jinping welcomed the foreign ambassadors to assume office in China, and asked them to convey sincere greetings and good wishes to leaders and peoples of countries concerned. Xi Jinping said that China is willing to continue strengthening the friendly and practical cooperation with their countries and to make joint efforts in maintaining human peace and promoting world prosperity. The Chinese government will provide convenience and support for the work of the ambassadors. It is hoped that the ambassadors make positive contributions to enhancing the development of China’s bilateral relations with countries concerned and promoting the friendship between the peoples of China and these countries.

The foreign ambassadors conveyed the warm greetings from leaders of their own countries to Xi Jinping, and wished China to be prosperous and strong and to play an increasingly important role in international affairs. The ambassadors said that China’s development is an important opportunity for the world, and all the countries attach great importance to relations with China and appreciate and support the proposals initiated by China such as the “Belt and Road” and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. The ambassadors said that they are highly honored to serve as envoys to China at this point and will be actively committed to promoting their respective countries’ friendship and cooperation with China.
