China values the mutual trust and friendship established by the leaders of the two countries and is willing to take next year's 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to sort out and summarize the experience of cooperation and plan for future development, so as to make bilateral relations more healthy, stable and dynamic.

Albares said that China is a great country with global significance. Spain attaches great importance to Spain-China relations, and looks forward to co-organizing the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with China. Spain hopes to strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two countries and establish a new Instituto Cervantes in China. Spain will take over the rotating presidency of the European Union in the second half of next year, and is willing to work with China to implement the outcomes of the video meeting between the EU and Chinese leaders and continue to promote dialogue and cooperation. The EU and China can and must develop mutually beneficial relations, which serves the common interest of both sides.

Wang Yi said that China and Spain are two civilizations with time-honored histories. China is willing to work with Spain to organize the Year of Culture and Tourism between the two countries to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

Wang Yi stressed that China is the builder, maintainer and beneficiary of the current international order, and will always uphold an open attitude, support free trade and promote win-win cooperation. The more China develops, the more opportunities it will bring to the world. China and the EU are partners, not rivals, and share a broad consensus on adhering to multilateralism and promoting democracy in international relations. We hope that Spain will play an important role as the rotating presidency and promote the EU to take an objective view of China's development from a long-term and strategic perspective, and work together for the sound and stable development of China-EU relations.
