On January 16, 2023, Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu met with Uzbek Ambassador to China Farhod Arziev.

Ma Zhaoxu noted that President Xi Jinping's historic visit to Uzbekistan in 2022 is of milestone significance. The two heads of state announced to implement the vision of a community with a shared future at the bilateral level, and it has injected new and strong impetus into bilateral cooperation. In the new year, both sides should follow through on the important common understandings between the two heads of state in an all-round and in-depth manner, and constantly promote the China-Uzbekistan relations to new levels.

Arziev said that Uzbekistan has always taken the development of relations with China as the priority of its foreign policy, and is ready to work with China to strengthen high-level exchanges, deepen all-round cooperation, and promote new development of the Uzbekistan-China comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era.
