On May 22, 2023, the International Day for Biological Diversity Event 2023 themed "From Agreement to Action: Build Back Biodiversity" was held in Kunming of Yunnan Province. Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Foreign Ministry Ma Xinmin attended and addressed the event.

Ma Xinmin said that as a member of the world family, China is committed to promoting global sustainable development and contributing wisdom and strength to the joint building of a community of all life on earth. China will continue to fulfill its responsibilities as president of the 15th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, and work with all parties to promote the effective implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, so as to jointly build a more vibrant, clean and beautiful world.

The event was hosted by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the People’s Government of Yunnan Province, and attended by more than 200 representatives from members of the China National Committee for Biodiversity Conservation, relevant UN agencies, the presidium of the Convention on Biological Diversity, embassies of relevant countries in China, international environmental protection organizations and media.
