Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs Ambassador Zhong Jianhua Visits Senegal

On January 11, 2016, Special Representative of the Chinese government on African Affairs Ambassador Zhong Jianhua visited Senegal and met respectively with President Macky Sall and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad Mankeur Ndiaye of Senegal. Both sides mainly exchanged views on China-Senegal relations, the implementation of the results of Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), and international and regional issues of common concern. H.E. Zhang Xun, Chinese Ambassador to Senegal, attended the meetings.

Ambassador Zhong Jianhua calls on President Macky Sall

Ambassador Zhong Jianhua expressed that since President Macky Sall paid a successful visit to China in 2014, China-Senegal relations have moved forward constantly. China is willing to listen to the suggestions of Senegal on implementing the results of the FOCAC Johannesburg Summit and dock each other's development strategies to make the summit results benefit the two peoples as early as possible and build a community of shared destiny and interests between China and Senegal.

The Senegalese side spoke positively of Senegal-China and Africa-China cooperation. President Macky Sall expressed that no country has ever mobilized so much resources in such a short time and unconditionally helped Africa like China. The Senegalese side will further enhance practical cooperation in all fields with China under the framework of FOCAC and promote Senegal-China relations for new and greater development.

Ambassador Zhong Jianhua also gave interviews to such media as Société Nationale de Radiodiffusion Télévision Sénégalaise.
