China and Mongolia Hold the Fourth Strategic Dialogue Between Foreign Ministries and the Second Meeting of the Joint Committee on China-Mongolia People-to-People Exchanges

On February 25, 2019, the fourth Strategic Dialogue between the Chinese and the Mongolian Foreign Ministries and the second meeting of the Joint Committee on China-Mongolia People-to-People Exchanges were held in Beijing. Vice Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Davaasuren Damdinsuren of Mongolia chaired the dialogue and the meeting.

The two sides had a candid and in-depth exchange of views on the situation of China-Mongolia relations and relevant work on commemorating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of China-Mongolia diplomatic relations. Both sides agreed that bilateral relations have embarked on the fast track of development under joint efforts. The two sides reiterated their willingness to take the development of China-Mongolia relations as the important direction of respective foreign policies, and respect each other's core interests and major concerns. Both sides agreed to take the 70th anniversary of the establishment of China-Mongolia diplomatic relations as an opportunity to maintain the momentum of high-level exchanges, speed up the implementation of important consensus reached by leaders of the two countries, advance practical exchanges and cooperation in various fields in an all-round manner, and constantly enrich and expand the connotation of China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership, in a bid to push bilateral relations for greater and better development.

The two sides spoke highly of the important significance of bilateral people-to-people exchanges and cooperation in promoting the sustained, sound and stable development of China-Mongolia relations, and were satisfied with the fruitful results the joint committee on China-Mongolia people-to-people exchanges has made since its establishment in 2018. Both sides confirmed that they will continue to well implement the important consensus reached by leaders of the two countries, seize the important opportunity of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations, give full play to the committee's role in overall planning, well make top design, make innovation in exchange forms, and jointly carry out various kinds of people-to-people exchange activities throughout the year, in a bid to facilitate the development of China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership. After the meeting, both sides issued the minutes together.
