Vice Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou and Deputy Foreign Minister Khamphao Ernthavanh of Laos Hold Diplomatic Consultation

On March 24, 2019, Vice Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou and Deputy Foreign Minister Khamphao Ernthavanh of Laos held diplomatic consultation in Luang Prabang Province, Laos, exchanging views on China-Laos relations and international and regional issues of common concern. H.E. Jiang Zaidong, Chinese Ambassador to Laos, attended relevant activities.

Kong Xuanyou expressed that under the personal guidance and promotion of the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, China-Laos relations have achieved leapfrog development. Since this year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of China-Laos comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, both sides should continuously implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, intensify strategic communication, deepen cooperation in various fields, and strengthen coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs, so as to well prepare for the high-level meeting within the year and push China-Laos relations for new and greater development constantly.

Khamphao Ernthavanh noted that Laos and China are "four-good" close partners. The strategic decision of building the Laos-China community with a shared future made by the leaders of the two Parties and two countries has charted the course for Laos-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new era. The Lao side is willing to continue to intensify high-level exchanges with the Chinese side, well propel the construction of key projects such as Laos-China Economic Corridor and the Laos-China railway and boost the personnel exchanges between the two countries so as to constantly carry forward the Laos-China traditional friendship.

During the visit to Laos, Vice Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou also met with Provincial Party Secretary and Governor Khamkhanh Chamthavisouk of Luang Prabang Province, and made an inspection tour to the site of China-Laos railway.
