Vice Foreign Minister Xie Feng Attends the National Day Reception of Egypt

On July 8, 2021, Vice Foreign Minister Xie Feng attended the National Day reception held by the Egyptian Embassy in China upon invitation, and exchanged views with Egyptian Ambassador to China Mohamed Elbadri on China-Egypt relations.

Xie Feng said, Egypt is the first Arab and African country to establish diplomatic relations with New China. In recent years, under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, China-Egypt relations have developed rapidly and bilateral cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results. Xie Feng expressed sincere thanks to President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi for his warm congratulations on the centenary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) via video link. Under the new situation, China is willing to work with Egypt to promote China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership to achieve greater development.

At the reception, Elbadri played a video of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi congratulating on the 100th anniversary of the CPC. On behalf of Egypt, he once again warmly congratulated on the 100th anniversary of the CPC and praised the great historical achievements that China has made under the leadership of the CPC. Egypt and China enjoy profound traditional friendship and a solid foundation for bilateral relations. Egypt attaches great importance to relations with China and is willing to join hands with China to push forward bilateral relations.
