On November 8, 2024, Director-General of the Department of African Affairs of the Foreign Ministry and Secretary-General of the Chinese Follow-up Committee of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Du Xiaohui visited Sierra Leone, during which he met and held talks with Vice President of Sierra Leone Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh and Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Sierra Leone Alan Logan, respectively. Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone Zhang Dianbin was present.
Du Xiaohui said that China is ready to work with Sierra Leone to follow through on the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state and the outcomes of the Beijing Summit, and take the China-Sierra Leone comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to new heights.
Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh spoke highly of bilateral relations and thanked China for its support for Sierra Leone's economic and social development. Sierra Leone reiterated its adherence to the one-China principle and is willing to further strengthen political mutual trust, consolidate practical cooperation, step up international coordination with China and push for greater development of bilateral relations and Africa-China relations.
During the visit, Du Xiaohui held discussions with experts of the China-aid agricultural technical team for Sierra Leone and visited China-aid projects.
