Chinese Consul General in Auckland Chen Shijie Attends 2024 New Zealand National Wushu Championships

Consul General Chen Shijie attended the opening ceremony of  2024 "Xiangshang Cup" New Zealand National Wushu Championships on September 1. New Zealand Members of Parliament Carlos Cheung,  Nancy Lu,Deborah Russell and Helen White, President of New Zealand Kungfu Wushu Federation Glenn Keith, President of Hunan General Chamber of Commerce Dragon Zhou, head of the Chinese Wushu Association delegation Zheng Nan,  along with nearly 1,000 competitors and spectators participated the event.

Consul General Chen congratulated the hosts for the successful event, introduced the course of Wushu overseas spread, briefed on the arrangements of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee  in regard to promoting cultural prosperity and broader international people-to-people exchanges and cooperation, and hoped that more New Zealand friends will better understand China through this unique form of culture,thus further promote friendship between our two countries.

The championships was organized by the New Zealand Kungfu Wushu Federation and  New Zealand Hunan General Chamber of Commerce, with special support from China Cultural Center in Auckland. More than 300 athletes participated in categories of routines, Tai Chi and sanda competition.
