Chargé d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Iceland Yang Jing Attends the Icelandic Division of the 2025 "Chinese Bridge" Language Competition

On April 6, Chargé d'Affaires Yang Jing attended the Icelandic division of the 2025 "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Language Proficiency Competition for College and Secondary School Students and the Chinese Language Show for Primary School Students and presented awards to the winners.

In her remarks, Ms. Yang commended the students for their dedication and enthusiasm in mastering two of the world’s most challenging languages—Chinese and Icelandic. She encouraged them to continue their Chinese studies, noting that learning Chinese not only deepens understanding of Chinese culture and broadens global perspectives, but also helps seize future opportunities and fosters greater mutual understanding between China and Iceland, contributing to the building of a community with a future for mankind.

The event was filled with energy and applause. Preschool children gave lively and adorable performances, while contestants’ speeches and talent shows in Chinese were impressive. Interactive Q&A and prize draw sessions added fun and excitement. The event also featured promotional videos about China and highlights from past “Chinese Bridge” competitions. Attendees expressed their admiration for the richness of Chinese culture and looked forward to learning more about China.
