On March 28, 2025, Ambassador Zhao Weiping attended the awards ceremony of the Chinese Ambassador Scholarship at Highline Secondary School in the Khomas Region of Namibia. Mr. Shaalukeni John Moonde, Chairperson of the Khomas Regional Council, Mr. Paulus D. Nghikembua, Khomas Regional Director of Education, Mr. Sackeus Nghuulikwa, Principal of Highline Secondary School and the teachers and students of the school attended the event.
In his remarks, Ambassador Zhao said that the newly sworn-in Namibian Government has emphasized the utmost importance of education in Namibia future development. The Chinese side will continue to take education as one of the priorities in providing development assistance to Namibia, and will be very happy to contribute its part to Namibian Government's efforts of improving educational infrastructure and strengthen bilateral cooperation in vocational training.
Chairperson Mr. Shaalukeni John Moonde thanked China for its support to Namibian education sector and encouraged Namibian youth to study diligently and carry forward the China-Namibia friendship. Mr. Sackeus Nghuulikwa, Principal of Highline Secondary School, noted that since its establishment, the Chinese Ambassador Scholarship has inspired the enthusiasm of Highline Secondary School's students for learning and was well received by the local community.
