On April 1, Chinese Embassy in Lesotho held a reception to bid farewell to the 18th and welcome the 19th Chinese medical team to Lesotho. Ambassador Yang Xiaokun, Lesotho’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Lejone Mpotjoane, Minister of Health,Selibe Mochoboroane,medical team members and journalists, over 60 participants in total, attended the event.

Ambassador Yang delivered a keynote speech,emphasizing that China adheres to the principle of sincerity, real results,amity and good faith, promotes the implementation of the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, continuously dispatches medical teams to Lesotho, advances the China-Lesotho Pairing-up Medical Aid Project, and deepens cooperation with Lesotho in various fields including health-care, laying a solid foundation for the China-Lesotho strategic partnership. Ambassador Yang thanked the Lesotho government for reiterating the commitment to the one-China principle and supporting China's efforts to achieve complete reunification.

Hon. Mochoboroane praised the medical teams as the guardians and mainstays of the Lesotho medical system, and expressed his wishes for the China-Lesotho Pairing-up Medical Aid Project to deepen the cooperation between Lesotho and China in the health-care field.
