On April 9, Mr. Fan Xuecheng, Chargé d'affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Uganda, met with H.E. Jessica Alupo, Vice President of Uganda. The two sides held in-depth discussions on further strengthening practical and friendly bilateral cooperation.
Mr. Fan noted that China and Uganda enjoy a long-standing traditional friendship, and bilateral exchanges and cooperation in such areas as international affairs, trade, and investment have continued to deepen. China stands ready to work with Uganda to advance the China-Uganda Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and jointly build an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era.
Vice President Alupo recalled her visit to China last year to attend the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), where she witnessed the fruitful outcomes of pragmatic cooperation between Uganda and China, and between Africa and China as a whole. She stated that China has long provided sincere and selfless support for the economic and social development of Uganda and other African countries. Uganda is ready to further strengthen cooperation with China in both bilateral and multilateral settings and to elevate the friendly relations between the two countries to new heights.
