Head of the Chinese Mission to the African Union Ambassador Jiang Feng Visits Africa CDC

On 25 July, H.E. Amb. Jiang Feng, Head of the Mission of China to the African Union, visited Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (ACDC) and met with its Director General Dr Kaseya. Minister Zhang Wei and senior officials from ACDC were present.

Dr Kaseya warmly welcomed Amb. Jiang’s assumption of duties and paying a visit to ACDC. He pointed out that public health remains a priority issue for the African Union and its member states, appreciated China’s strong support to the construction and development of ACDC, which demonstrates beyond doubt who Africa’s true friend is. In its initial operational phase, ACDC is willing to consolidate the cooperation with China to deliver tangible benefits to the African people. 

Amb. Jiang emphasized that China and Africa are close friends, good partners, and true brothers. China has consistently supported Africa’s healthcare development, and this commitment remains unwavering regardless of policy shifts by other countries. Both sides should strengthen planning and implement steadily to jointly build an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era.

Accompanied by the officials from ACDC, Amb. Jiang also toured its key facilities including Emergency Command Center and laboratories.
