Li Keqiang Meets with First Vice-president of the Council of State and Council of Ministers Miguel Diaz-Canel of Cuba

On the afternoon of September 24, 2016 local time, after arriving in Havana, Premier Li Keqiang met with First Vice-president of the Council of State and Council of Ministers Miguel Diaz-Canel of Cuba, who was greeting Li Keqiang at the airport.

Li Keqiang expressed that China and Cuba enjoy profound traditional friendship and solid political mutual trust and bilateral practical cooperation in various fields is comprehensively advancing. During the visit, I look forward to exchanging in-depth views with Cuban leaders on bilateral relations and other topics of common interests, integrating development plans of the two countries and bilateral practical cooperation and jointly advancing the continuous and in-depth development of bilateral relations and cooperation, so as to better benefit the two peoples.

Miguel Diaz-Canel agreed with Li Keqiang's high praise for Cuba-China relations. He noted that Premier Li Keqiang's visit this time is of historic significance, which will vigorously facilitate bilateral relations and the development as well as construction of the two countries, and open up a better future for bilateral relations. At present, Cuba is actively promoting update on economic models. The Cuban side hopes that China can continue to actively participate in the economic and social development of Cuba. He also wished a complete success of Premier Li Keqiang's visit to Cuba.
