Raul Castro Meets with Wang Yi

On April 20 local time, Raul Castro, President of the State Council and the Council of Ministers of Cuba met with Foreign Minister Wang Yi of China at the Revolutionary Palace in Havana.

Raul expressed that Cuba and China enjoy a profound traditional friendship with high-level political mutual trust. Cuba is now at the critical stage of its cause of socialist construction. Cuba is willing to deepen the exchanges of experience with China in national construction and to promote practical cooperation in various fields so as to uplift the bilateral relations to a new high.

Wang Yi expressed that China and Cuba are good friends, comrades and brothers, which is the precious treasure of both sides. China stands ready to carry forward China-Cuba traditional friendship, to enhance high-level exchanges and to work with the Cuban side translating the bilateral high-level political relationship into the tangible results of mutually beneficial cooperation. Both sides should further strengthen exchanges and learning from each other the experience in governance and administration of state affairs, and firmly support each other in exploring their own development paths suited to their national conditions. China-Latin America cooperation is ready to set off, and it is believed that Cuba will continue to play a positive and constructive role in promoting the development of China-Latin America relations.

Wang Yi also held talks with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla of Cuba.
