Foreign Minister Wang Yi Meets with the Newly-appointed Director of the Representative Office of the League of Arab States to China Heppri and Receives His Letter of Appointment

On May 14, 2014, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with the newly-appointed Director of the Representative Office of the League of Arab States to China Heppri and received the letter of appointment presented by him.

Wang Yi welcomed Heppri on his assumption of office in China. He expressed that China attaches great importance to its relations with the developing countries, including the Arab states. China is willing to work with the League of Arab States to uplift the China-Arab strategic and cooperative relations of "comprehensive cooperation and common development" to a higher level. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of China-Arab Cooperation Forum and the sixth ministerial conference for this Forum will soon be held in China, which is a great event in the history of China-Arab relations. Hope that the two counties will maintain close coordination and cooperation and work together to ensure the success of the conference and other relevant activities.

Heppri said that he is much honored to work in China. He stands ready to make the utmost effort in promoting continuous development of China-Arab strategic and cooperative relations. Arab countries attach great importance to the sixth ministerial conference of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum and will work closely with China to ensure the success of the conference.

The two sides also exchanged views on Palestinian and other regional issues.
