Li Keqiang Sends a Congratulatory Letter to the Eco-Forum Global Annual Conference Guiyang 2014

On July 11, 2014, the Eco-Forum Global Annual Conference Guiyang 2014 opened in Guiyang. Premier Li Keqiang sent a congratulatory letter to the Forum.

Li Keqiang, on behalf of the Chinese government, extended congratulations on the convening of the annual conference. He expressed that eco-civilization derives from the reflection on development and is also the elevation of development. It concerns the livelihood and well-being of the current generation and the development space of future generations. China has put the construction of eco-civilization at a more prominent place in its national modernization construction. China has been seeking protection in the process of development and development in the process of protection, improved the system and mechanism of the eco-civilization, made great efforts to prevent and control air haze, as well as water and soil pollution, pushed forward the reform in the production of energy resources and the pattern of consumption, continued to implement major ecological projects, and offered a pleasant ecological environment to all people as public goods, so as to build a modernized China featuring eco-civilization.

Li Keqiang stressed that there is only one earth for mankind. The protection of ecological environment and the promotion of green development are the convergence of interests for all countries. China takes ecological environmental protection as an important area in the opening up and will continue to strengthen environmental cooperation with other countries and international organizations to further fulfill international environmental protection conventions, work together to cope with the climate change, and jointly promote the cause of human environment and development.

Li Keqiang expressed that the theme of this annual conference of the Forum is "leveraging reforms, joining hands globally and marching into the new era of eco-civilization", embodying the structural adjustment driven by structural reform and the shared responsibility of all parties in face of eco-civilization construction. He believed that the annual conference will pool new consensus and carry out new explorations for global sustainable development.
