Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith of Laos Meets with Wang Yi

On April 23, 2016, Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith of Laos met with Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the Prime Minister's Office in Vientiane.

Thongloun Sisoulith asked Wang Yi to convey his warm greetings to Premier Li Keqiang and expressed that Laos has benefited much from China's great help for a long time. China's assistance in the launch of Laos' first artificial satellite, along with the co-construction of the Laos-China railway, will strongly promote Laos' development. The new government of Laos is willing to carry forward the traditional friendship and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with China. Laos welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest and conduct business in Laos and will create better conditions for them. Laos stands ready to work with China to continuously promote ASEAN-China cooperation.

Wang Yi conveyed Premier Li Keqiang's warm greetings to Thongloun Sisoulith and expressed that China and Laos are an unbreakable community of common destiny. China is willing to work with Laos in aligning its "Belt and Road" initiative with Laos' strategy of "transformation from a land-locked country into a land-linked one", promoting cooperation in production capacity, well building the China-Laos railway and pushing bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation for new achievements. China is ready to work with Laos to push forward China-ASEAN relations for new progress during Laos' rotating presidency of the ASEAN.
