Wang Yi noted that I just had fruitful talks with Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif.

We have agreed that China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperation is not only the precious wealth for China and Pakistan, but also provides a model for building a new type of international relations. The two sides will continue to place developing China-Pakistan relations in the privileged direction of each other’s foreign policy, firmly support each other’s core and major interests, intensify coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs and promote the building of a closer community with a shared future for China and Pakistan.

We have agreed that economic globalization is an irreversible and general trend. China and Pakistan should support and promote the process of multilateralism and jointly safeguard the global free trade system with the World Trade Organization as its core.

We have agreed that China and Pakistan have carried out sound coordination and cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). We will further strengthen communication and coordination, and work together with other member states to build the SCO into an important platform of cooperation in safeguarding regional stability and achieving common development.

Wang Yi expressed that China will continue to firmly support Pakistan in safeguarding national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and national dignity and support Pakistan in seeking a development path that suits its national conditions. We believe that the Pakistani government and people are fully capable of handling their own affairs and continue to maintain the unity and stability of the country.

China will continue to firmly support Pakistan in developing economy, improving people’s livelihood, and promoting the construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor in a scientific and orderly manner so as to achieve due economic and social effects and make the fruits of construction more and better benefit the local people.

China will continue to firmly support the Pakistani side in fighting against terrorism and safeguarding national security and stability. China is willing to help Pakistan strengthen capacity building in anti-terrorism and security and provide reliable security guarantees for the economic cooperation and common development of the two countries.

China will continue to firmly support the Pakistani side in conducting foreign exchanges and cooperation, improving relations with its neighboring countries, creating a stable external environment and playing a greater role in international and regional affairs.

Wang Yi pointed out that the keynote speech by President Xi Jinping at the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2018 sounded the trumpet for a new round of reform and opening up in China, and also opened a new door of opportunities and provided fresh impetus for the development of Pakistan and China-Pakistan relations. We are willing to work with our brotherly Pakistani people to shoulder the respective historic tasks of national rejuvenation and commit ourselves to realizing the great dream of a prosperous and strong country, so that the ironclad relationship between China and Pakistan will stay shining and unbreakable forever.
