Li Keqiang Meets with Vice President Jusuf Kalla of Indonesia

On the evening of May 7, 2018 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met with Vice President Jusuf Kalla of Indonesia at the hotel where he stayed in Jakarta.

Li Keqiang expressed that China and Indonesia, both as developing countries with large populations in Asia, enjoy huge market potential. During this visit, leaders of Indonesia and I have reached new consensus on deepening relations between both countries and expanding bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation. China is willing to take the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries as an opportunity to meet Indonesia half way on the basis of mutual respect and equal cooperation, so as to promote bilateral relations and cooperation to higher levels and make greater contributions to stability and development in the region and the world.

Jusuf Kalla noted that Indonesia-China relations are in the best period. Both sides have continuously consolidated political mutual trust, increasingly deepened economic cooperation and witnessed continuous and sound development momentum. Indonesia appreciates the Chinese enterprises for investing in the country, which will be conducive to promoting the development of local economy in Indonesia. Indonesia stands ready to, together with China, further enhance exchanges and cooperation in such areas as economy, trade, culture, education and ocean, so as to boost bilateral relations to new stages.
