Premier Li Keqiang Talks by Phone with Algerian Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerrad

Premier Li Keqiang took a phone call from Algerian Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerrad on the afternoon of March 31.

Premier Li recalled the profound traditional friendship between China and Algeria. He pointed out that Algeria's donations of high-demand supplies in the early days of China's fight against the COVID-19 outbreak again shows the deep friendship between the two countries through thick and thin. The virus is spreading in the Middle East recently, and Algeria faces a challenging task in containment. China feels for Algeria in this difficult time, and will stand in solidarity with the Algeria and provide help to the best of its ability, including sharing containment experience. Li expressed the hope that Algeria will protect the safety and provide for the essential needs of Chinese citizens there. China will continue to work with Algeria on major cooperation projects, and believes that cooperation between the two countries in various fields will reach new heights after the outbreak is defeated.

Prime Minister Djerrad said that countries must work in solidarity and step up multilateral cooperation as the COVID-19 virus spreads across the world. Algeria applauds China's control efforts and appreciates the kind assistance it has extended to Algeria. He expressed the hope for China's continued support in terms of containment supplies, equipment and medical treatment. Algeria is happy with the Algeria-China comprehensive strategic partnership and will work with China to take forward the large bilateral projects.
