Q:Do you have any comment on the recent situation in Sierra Leone?


A: China expresses grave concern over the recent eruption of violence in Sierra Leone and condemns the armed attack by the Revolutionary United Front (RUF) against troops of the UN Mission in Sierra Leone (UNAMSL) and RUF's continued detention of a large number of UN personnel and members of other international agencies. We hope that RUF will immediately release all the people they are holding and strictly observe the Lome Agreement.
