On the afternoon of October 13, 2011, Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang met with Iurie Leanca, Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration in Beijing.

Speaking highly of the healthy and stable development of China-Moldova relationship since its establishment nearly 20 years ago, Vice Premier Li Keqiang said the two countries' increasing political mutual trust, expanding economic cooperation and cultural exchanges brought substantial benefits to the two peoples.

Li pointed out that both economies are highly complementary and their cooperation has great potential and broad prospects. China hopes to work closely with Moldova to earnestly implement the agreed projects, strengthen consultations, further expand areas of cooperation, complement each other's strength and nurture the new growth points of cooperation. He urged both sides to create conditions to promote bilateral personnel exchanges. China will work closely with Moldova to take the 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2012 to bring the bilateral relations to a new high.

Iurie Leanca said he appreciates the Chinese government's long-term economic and technological support and disinterested assistance, adding Moldova attaches great importance to its relationship with China, which is a trustworthy and important cooperation partner. He vowed to further deepen bilateral exchanges and cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, science, technology, culture and education and push forward the ties.
