On Jun. 26, 2013, Vice President Li Yuanchao met with President Desi Bouterse of Suriname in Beijing.

Li Yuanchao said that China and Suriname have maintained sound development for bilateral relations. The heads of state of the two countries have recently reached important consensus on deepening China-Suriname friendly cooperation. It opens up a new chapter for long-term stable development of bilateral relations. Both sides should adhere to the sincerity to each other, to mutual benefit and win-win outcome, to exchanges and learning from each other, and deepen cooperation in all fields for the steady development of the bilateral relations.

Bouterse said that China and Suriname have great potential in developing bilateral relations. Suriname will step up practical cooperation with China and promote comprehensive development of bilateral relations.
