Consul General Li Qiangmin Attends the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the General Chennault Flying Tiger Academy

On Oct. 19, 2017, Amb. Li Qiangmin, Chinese Consul General in Houston, attended the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the General Chennault Flying Tiger Academy and delivered a speech.

Amb. Li warmly congratulated the opening of the academy, extended sincere gratitude to the selfless help from the 'Flying Tigers' led by General Chennault against Japanese invaders during the Anti-Japanese War. Amb. Li briefed about the Opening Session of the 19th CPC National Congress, President Xi Jinping's report to the 19th CPC National Congress and the bilateral relation between China and the US, encouraging that the academy can bring up more excellent pilots and serve as a new bridge for the friendship between our two countries.

More than a hundred people including Nell Calloway, the head of the academy as well as the granddaughter of General Chennault, three veterans of the 'Flying Tigers', local government officials, businessmen and media attended the event.
